herebedragonsexHello, and welcome to the Here Be Dragons Multifandom Exchange! We're here to celebrate dragons through art and fic (1000 words or a finished piece of art, of any rating). All sorts of dragons are welcome, including dragons from various cultural traditions, original dragons, and dragons from any fandom.
As this is a dragon exchange, all stories must include a dragon! We've elaborated on eligible dragons below, but if you have any questions about the eligibility of a specific dragon please feel free to ask. Comments are unscreened.

During the nominations period, you will be able to submit your nominations to the tag set. Each participant can nominate up to 10 fandoms with a maximum of 20 relationships for each fandom. Relationships and characters should be disambiguated by fandom for clarity, with (OW) being used to indicate original work nominations. Single characters should be nominated as “Solo: Character Name” in the Relationships field. This option should be used only for characters who are dragons (or dragon-shifters, etc.). If you are nominating a single non-dragon character interacting with a dragon or dragons, please nominate them in the form of a relationship (i.e. Charlie Weasley & Hungarian Horntail). Romantic relationships should be indicated with a / and platonic ones with a &. If you are nominating AU versions of characters that are not normally dragons, you can use ! modifiers to indicate which character should be a dragon/dragon-like being/dragonrider etc. Examples: Dragon!Character A, Dragonrider!Character B, Kobold!Character C.
For OW relationships, the type of pairing should be listed in parentheses if you have a specific one in mind (F/F, F/Any, etc.) If no pairing type is specified, the default is Any/Any.

For the purposes of this exchange, all stories should include at least one “real”, perceptible dragon (be it a flesh-and-blood dragon, a spirit dragon, an elemental dragon, a mechanical dragon, etc.). Dragons can come from any canon or cultural tradition, or be original dragons thought up by you. Real-world Komodo dragons are also included. Dragon shifters, dragon-like creatures, and part-dragons count, as long as they are physically dragons or dragonish at least part of the time. Metaphorical dragons, people or beings with a dragonish nature, or characters named/titled Dragon do not count as dragons…unless they turn into a literal, perceptible dragon at some point or a dragon shows up, that’d be fine.
Examples:
The Dragon Reborn in the Wheel of Time.
Not eligible, because the Dragon Reborn is a human.
AU where the Dragon Reborn is an actual dragon.
Eligible, because the Dragon Reborn is a dragon.
AU where the Dragon Reborn is a dragonslayer.
Eligible, because the story is centered around a dragon.
Your sign-up must request at least three different fandoms up to a maximum of ten. Fandoms must be unique, i.e. if you have ten requests they must be for ten different fandoms. You must select at least one pairing or ‘Any Relationship’ per request. You may sign up with a maximum of one well-behaved sock; please ensure that your sock is not matchable to your main account. Please be courteous to other participants. We will not entertain asshole behavior.
There are two freeform tags used to specify medium preferences: Medium Opt-In: Fic, and Medium Opt-In: Art. You must select at least one medium, but you can select both if you are happy to receive either art or fic.
DNWs must be listed in the Optional Details text box to be enforced—we cannot enforce DNWs that are only listed in an external letter.
In your sign-up, you should offer at least three unique fandoms. They can be the same fandoms as those you request. Before the end of the sign-up period, please check to make sure that you are matchable. It's fine if no one is offering the fandoms you're requesting (we'll take care of that with a pinch hit if necessary), but you should make sure that your offers are matchable to at least one person so that you have something to create.
This exchange uses OR matching. Your assignment only needs to include one of your recipient’s fandoms and one of their relationships, and be in one of their requested mediums. Recipients can mention additional pairings besides those in the tag set, but inclusion of these pairings will not be enforced.
If there is anyone you do not want to be matched to, please contact the mods via Dreamwidth or email at herebedragonsex@gmail.com and let us know their username and how you’d like us to handle it if they ask to pick up your pinch hit or write you a treat.
All assignments must be 1000 words OR 1 finished art piece minimum and must include at least one dragon. Your assignment should be in a requested fandom and include at least one requested relationship. It should also be in one of your recipient's requested mediums (i.e., if your recipient only requested fic, you cannot fill their request with art). You only have to submit one assignment based on one of your recipient's requests, not all of them! In addition, you are not required to fill the request that you matched on if another one of their requests catches your eye (e.g., you match on your recipient's request for Wings of Fire but decide you'd rather go with their Lord of the Rings prompt).
You are not required to follow the recipient’s exact suggestions or prompts, but you should respect your recipient’s DNWs. Please don't submit spitefic, we know it when we see it.
Art pieces should be finished and of a quality that you would be happy to receive yourself. Scanned traditional art should be on unlined paper with a clean background.

So a general fic about Charlie Weasley is not allowed because he's not a dragon. But a fic about Charlie Weasley studying dragons is allowed because it involves dragons - is that right?
How would that get reflected in the nominations? Like, do I just nominate the character of Charlie Weasley, with the understanding that any requests for him will involve dragons because he's a dragon scholar?
Or if I, say, wanted a shipfic where Harry runs away to hang out with Charlie & the dragons, would I nominate "Harry Potter/Charlie Weasley", with the understanding that any Harry/Charlie fic that's requested/written will involve dragons somehow?
And dragon-AUs are allowed, so I could nominate "Dragonslayer!Harry Potter/Dragon!Draco Malfoy", even though they are not canonically dragons? Or do the characters have to have some vague interaction with dragons in the canon? (I'm not familiar with the Wheel of Time, so I'm not sure how dragon-heavy the series is.)

Date: 2022-11-30 12:24 am (UTC)but Ryuko, Dragonbug, and other characters using the Dragon Miraculous are not eligible in themselves, since they're not turning into dragons? (though there's a past Cat Miraculous wielder design, of dubious canonicity on account of other past Miraculous wielder designs by this person have appeared in season 5, in which he turns into a magical lion, so if a Dragon Miraculous wielder were to turn into a magical dragon instead of a human with dragon-inspired magical armor, that sounds like it would be eligible?)

I'm not super familiar with this canon admittedly, but this would be eligible based on what you've described!
